Though we set off very early, due to some reasons, we arrived at Mushroom Camp later than expected. As soon as we stopped at the gate, we were very surprised by and thankful for such a warm welcome by members from Mushroom Camp. They helped us carry boxes with bright smiles on their faces.

The leader and manager of Mushroom Camp is Ms. Huong, who is responsible for and taking care of Agent Orange victims in Thien Giao Camp. She shared with us many stories about the pains and difficulties they have suffered from as well as the simple joys people share in Thien Giao.

We were extremely moved by the maternal that Ms. Huong gives her beloved children. She has not only given them a shelter, but also a great love from a mother. Seeing the way that Tram, Binh, Them – who have suffered from mental disabilities, keep calling her “Mum”, sleep on her arms and rub their heads on her chest, we feel that Thien Giao Camp is truly a “Home”, where there is a mother who never gave birth yet has more than 20 children dearly calling her “Mum” every day.

Ms. Huong said, “In Thien Giao, we don’t lack of necessity, everyone can work on their own. The love that people give to others here is the most precious thing. We will never forget her sayings, because we know that true compassion begins with empathy, not pity.

Two hours had gone so fast though we still had many things that we wanted to share. We will always remember every moment that we spent in Thien Giao Mushroom Camp.

Goodbye Thien Giao, we will continue our trip to Do Son Beach and celebrate JYJFamily Vietnam’s 2nd birthday with a lovely cake.

JYJFamily Vietnam would like to send our sincere thanks to all the volunteers taking part in this event in Hai Phong City: PTK, Cloudy, Henxy, etc. for your support. We hope that you will continue to participate in our activities so that we can extend our charity programs in more places in Vietnam.
